Digital literacy and employability for marginalised youth
About the program
PREM MARG’s Computer Training Program supports marginalised youth from Hyderabad slums and adjoining districts, including young people from migrant and informal worker families, school dropouts, unemployed youth and other vulnerable groups.
Training
Through three Basic Computer Learning Centres, approximately 100–120 youth are trained annually. The three-month program is conducted in batches of 20–30 students and includes basic computer applications, English communication, interview skills and CV preparation.
Employment support
Participants also receive career guidance and job-placement support through job fairs. The program has a goal of helping at least 20% of participants secure employment opportunities.
Inclusive learning
PREM MARG has also used computer learning as an inclusion pathway for persons with disabilities, combining practical digital skills with spoken English and job readiness.
